Spark LS Delivers Three Buildings and Onsite Tour Experience as it continues development on the 109-acre site

January 24, 2024

Morrisville, NC – December 07, 2023 – Development continues at Spark LS, the premier 109-acre advanced life science campus in the Research Triangle region. Ownership (Trinity Capital) recently delivered Phase 1 of a total planned 1.5 million square feet, which included 525,000 square feet over three tenant-ready buildings to support research and development and biomanufacturing uses, and an innovative leasing center.

The 1,300-square-foot leasing center features an adaptive design that will integrate seamlessly into the evolving development. In this initial leasing phase, the center provides an immersive user experience to help tell the Spark story, featuring a scaled model of the campus and multimedia presentation capabilities. Designed to be relocated within the campus after the initial leasing phase, the building will transform into an ancillary meeting and collaboration space for the Spark community.

“It’s critical for visitors and prospective tenants to have a full understanding of the Spark ecosystem we’re creating to foster discovery and innovation,” said Jeff Sheehan, Managing Partner at Trinity Capital. “This new leasing center allows us to immerse visitors in the vision for the campus and represents the exceptional quality, attention to detail, and creativity tenants can expect from Spark.”

Currently, Ownership is focused on the development and programming of Axis, the 20,000-square-foot tenant and community engagement center at the heart of the Spark campus. Axis will feature flexible collaboration space, ample conference and meeting spaces, dedicated event space, a full-service café and bar, and a game room. Axis will be staffed with a Community Manager and team focused on delivering hospitality-forward experiences and programming to engage tenants and foster innovation and collaboration across the Triangle’s life science community. The campus will also feature a separate 10,000-square-foot state-of-the-art wellness and fitness space adjacent to Axis.

“Spark is much more than just a collection of buildings. We’re intentional about delivering an exceptional experience that supports the innovative work happening onsite. Axis will be the heart of the campus, staffed with a team of hospitality experience professionals who will support the campus community with meaningful activation and engagement. It’s like nothing else in the market, and we’re thrilled to watch it all come together,” continued Sheehan.

Axis will deliver in the third quarter of 2024 and will begin hosting life science and greater community events

Spark’s General contracting, planning, and design teams include Brasfield & Gorrie, Hanbury, and Kimley Horn. Leasing efforts are being led by Douglas Cook and Suzanna Nichols of Cushman & Wakefield.
