Online Women’s Shoe Retailer leases 12,000 SF in Downtown Office Building

Charlotte, NC – September 6, 2011 – NASCAR Plaza is pleased to announce that Heels.com has signed a lease for 12,156 SF on the 17th floor of the building, located at 550 South Caldwell Street  in downtown Charlotte. The online retailer of fashionable, on-trend women’s designer shoes will move into the building in October of 2011.

Heels.com CEO Eric McCoy started the company in 2007, operating out of 10,000 SF of space at 801 North Tryon Street. The company has experienced rapid growth and NASCAR Plaza will serve as the corporate headquarters for all business operations. Heels.com is moving its shoe inventory and order fulfillment operations from the Tryon Street location to a 200,000 SF warehouse space in Louisville, Kentucky.

“Our new space at NASCAR Plaza promises to be just as creative, stylish and innovative as our company,” said McCoy. “The building offers Heels.com everything we wanted as we continue to grow, modern architecture and design not seen anywhere else in Charlotte, and the view from the 17th floor is truly the best in the city.”

Heels.com is currently upfitting the space with a design by Liquid Designs. Tyler 2 Construction is the general contractor, and Trinity Partners’ Senior Project Manager Tracy Haynie (PE, LEED AP) is managing the project.

“Heels.com is a great fit for NASCAR Plaza,” commented Greg Schild, Director of Asset Management for Trinity Capital. “They are a young, growing company with a national presence on the cutting edge of e-commerce, and we feel their look fits the image and brand of the building.” Jessica Brown and Anne Vulcano of CB Richard Ellis represented the landlord and Joe Cherry and Ben Speir of Cherry & Associates represented Heels.com in the transaction.

Trinity Capital is also pleased to announce the expansion of NASCAR Media Group, who leased an additional 11,009 SF on the sixth floor. Alcoa recently moved onto the seventh floor in April. Other notable tenants include the Charlotte Regional Partnership, NASCAR, Inc., and the Federal Deposit Insurance Commission (FDIC).

NASCAR Plaza is owned by Trinity Capital Advisors and Rubenstein Partners. Designed by world-renowned Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, the building achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification form the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The building is managed by Trinity Partners.
