440 South Church Tops Out in Ccharlotte’s Third Ward

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – (March 6, 2009) – Trinity Capital Advisors, Novare Group and general contractor Bovis Lend Lease held a ceremony today to celebrate the “topping out” of 440 South Church, a 15-story, 363,000-square-foot office tower in Charlotte’s Third Ward. A topping-out occurs when the last structural elements are put in place atop a skyscraper.
440 South Church, set for completion in the third quarter of 2009, is being built to LEED Silver standards and will submit for certification from the United States Green Building Council. Bovis Lend Lease is the general contractor for the building, which was designed by Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates, Inc. The Epsten Group, Inc. out of Atlanta is serving as the LEED energy and commissioning consultant. 440 South Church is being leased and managed by Trinity Partners.
“Leasing activity at 440 South Church has been surprisingly strong, given the economic climate we’re experiencing”, says Peter Conway, Director of Leasing for Trinity Partners. “The proximity to the city’s new cultural center, Duke Energy’s new headquarters facility, and the new city park have created a lot of interest in 440 South Church” says Conway.
In addition to Class A office space and a 3,000 square foot state of the art workout facility, 440 South Church will offer 7,300 square feet of ground-level retail, including a marquee Church Street restaurant (to be named). “440 South Church will offer next-generation office space, including rich workplace amenities and a prime location, all in an environmentally responsible way,” said Gary Chesson, Partner, Trinity Capital.
