Ally Center Announces New Restaurant Tenant: HaSaki Grill

Modern Hibachi Fast-Casual Restaurant to Open Early Fall 2011

Charlotte, NC – April 12, 2011 – Downtown Charlotte will soon have another restaurant option for lunch and dinner thanks to Chang Ha, owner of Ally Center’s new eatery, HaSaki Grill. The grill will occupy 1,969 square feet on the first floor of the building.

Ha is a Charlotte business owner who has lived here since 1979. He came up with the concept for the HaSaki Grill based on what he wants and expects as a restaurant consumer: fresh, quality food in a clean, well-designed environment. The fast-casual restaurant’s focused menu will feature traditional hibachi grill meals prepared to order, with items like chicken, seafood, vegetables, or steak.  HaSaki Grill will also offer a full sushi menu along with beer and wine.

Chang is working with Wilber Associates to design the open concept restaurant that will feature clean, modern finishes in Ally Center’s first floor space bordering Church Street.  The restaurant will seat up to 80 customers, and the outdoor seating will add to the bustling atmosphere of Charlotte’s burgeoning arts district.

Ha chose Ally Center because of its location (440 South Church Street) in the high-density arts district, surrounded by prominent Charlotte employers like Ally Bank and Duke Energy. The future growth of Charlotte’s business and cultural scene coupled with popular downtown spots like the Knight Theater appealed to Ha immediately. Ha also noted that Ally Center’s property management team, Trinity Partners Management, offered him the service and attention he appreciates as a client. “My perspective as a tenant is that I have to add value to the building,” said Ha. “I am very impressed with Trinity Partners’ property management team and their commitment to help. It becomes more than just a tenant-landlord relationship and I value that. It’s a very good fit for me.”

Marla Sessoms of Ligon Commerical Real Estate represented Ha in the deal and Keely Lane of Merrifield Patrick Vermillion represented the landlord, Trinity Capital Advisors. Ally Center is a 16-story, 365,000 square foot building located on South Church Street in the heart of the cultural campus in downtown Charlotte, NC. Developed by Trinity Capital and managed by Trinity Partners Management, Ally Center was completed in October of 2009. Ally Bank’s Charlotte headquarters is located in the building along with architecture, engineering, and consulting firm HDR.
